Sr. Francis of Assisi

The prayer of St. Francis of Assisi is a life changing mantra that aligns your heart, mind, body, and soul.

This prayer can be utilised to overcome heart ache, addictions, and even influence the success of your business.

Forgive those who have hurt you, ask for forgiveness from those who you have hurt.

Develop the divine will to overcome your bad habits.

Bless your business, your clients, and your employees.

For best results – repeat morning and evening

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace,

Where there is hatred, let me sow love;

Where there is injury, pardon;

Where there is doubt, faith;

Where there is despair, hope;

Where there is darkness, light;

Where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master,

grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled, as to console;

to be understood, as to understand;

to be loved, as to love.

For it is in giving that we receive.

It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,

and it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life.

Amen.

If you are an advanced practitioner of meditation or even a beginner – a great approach to making your

Meditation Tipspractice more rich and worthwhile is to do the following before you meditate.

1. Write down 5 things that you are grateful for in your life today.

2. Write down 3 people who have hurt you.

3. Write down 3 people who you have hurt.

So how does this help?

By expressing gratitude for what you have in your life – instantly your more relaxed and your heart chakra opens up. An open heart chakra is vital for peace of mind, health, and even financial success.

By writing down 3 people who have hurt you – you identify the emotional hurt and begin to neutralise it by writing it down on paper. Just by writing down the name of the person – the intensity of the pain will reduce.

When you write down 3 people who you have hurt – you realise that just as someone hurt you – you have also hurt others. The best way to be forgiven is to forgive others.

By taking the time to do these 3 simple time-in’s you will achieve much more in your meditations and accelerate your growth in all areas of your life.

Every body say OM

Keep blazing your own trail and see you on the road!

Wishing everyone a Happy New Year and Prosperous 2012.

As we close 2011 and start 2012, I just wanted to share our top 10 learning’s for 2011. After all, we are here to grow

#10. Adding Value.

You need to add value to succeed in business . The lives of people you work with need to be significantly lifted with your services. Going into 2012, we are going to ramp up our delivery to add outrageous value to the people who rely on us.

#9. What worked in the past, may not necessarily work in the future.

What worked in the past may not work in the future. All strategies have an expiry date and its key to be flexible enough to change rapidly. Not being able to switch strategies on the fly is like getting stuck in the mud. For 2012 we are going to listen more carefully to what people are saying and not saying.

#8. Best things in Life are Free, but wait a moment.

As the saying goes, best things in life are free, but the biggest learning has been that it’s good to give things for free but not everyone appreciates it. For 2012 we will continue to do our charitable work but will focus more on the people who appreciate our work.

#7. Be ready to move, time is precious.

If your environment is not conducive to your growth then don’t waste time trying to change people – change yourself. For 2012, we are going to reach out to the people who really need our services.

#6. Different strokes for different folks.

Our clients perceive us in different ways and we need to be flexible enough to meet their needs. One size does not fit all. For 2012 we are going to focus on the core needs of our varied client base.

#5. Accurate Perception.

To be honest with yourself is probably one of the hardest things to do. It is so vital to look and perceive things as they are – not worse than they are and not better.  But as they are. Being true to yourself can save you a lot of wastage and emotional leakage. For 2012 we are going to look at things more objectively.

#4. Stop the (Time) Leaks.

You got to do things when they need to be done. Spending time with family, working, calling your clients all need to be done when they need to be done. When we don’t do stick to our plans we have spillage and things flowing into each other Like a big mash up ultimately limiting your effectiveness as an individual and a business

#3. Sharpening the Saw takes Time – but don’t spend all your time doing just that.

Sometimes we need to sharpen the axe before we chop the tree! Sometimes the preparation might take longer than you might have planned – but that’s okay – as long as you get down to work and make it happen. For 2012 – our axe / saw is ready to go!

#2. Live Mindfully.

Your energy is directly proportional to your success. Developing detailed mindfulness about what picks you up & what takes you down mentally, emotionally, physically, or spiritually is the key to unlocking your potential in your health, relationships, and financial success.
Taking it a step further – develop the daily rituals that keep the heart, mind, body, & soul clean and aligned. For 2012 – it starts with us to make sure we are in peak states to deliver peak solutions.

#1. Enjoy the relationships – Enjoy the Journey – Enjoy Yourself.

At the end of the day – it’s about enjoying the journey and doing your duty – especially for the ones who depend on you. building and enhancing their relationships Life is too short but love lasts for generations! For 2012  & beyond we are going to focus on building relationships and nurture them with appreciation and gratitude.

This is what we learned in 2012 – what are your learning’s. Take some time and note them down to make sure you learned your lessons in 2011.

Keep blazing your own trail,

7 things highly productive people do

You probably don’t want to admit it but you love distractions. In fact, just like monkeys, you get a shot of dopamine every time something pulls you in another direction. Why do you think you check your email so much?

Want to be more productive and get your focus back? There are no secret tricks here… do one thing at a time. Stop multitasking—it’s just another form of distraction.

Easier said than done, I know.

Recently I sat down with Tony Wong, a project management blackbelt whose client list includes Toyota, Honda, and Disney, to name a few. He’s an expert in keeping people on task, so I thought he’d be a good person to ask.

Here are his tips for staying productive:

  1. Work backwards from goals to milestones to tasks. Writing “launch company website” at the top of your to-do list is a sure way to make sure you never get it done. Break down the work into smaller and smaller chunks until you have specific tasks that can be accomplished in a few hours or less: Sketch a wireframe, outline an introduction for the homepage video, etc. That’s how you set goals and actually succeed in crossing them off your list.
  2. Stop multi-tasking. No, seriously—stop. Switching from task to task quickly does not work. In fact, changing tasks more than 10 times in a day makes you dumber than being stoned. When you’re stoned, your IQ drops by five points. When you multitask, it drops by an average of 10 points, 15 for men, five for women (yes, men are three times as bad at multitasking than women).
  3. Be militant about eliminating distractions. Lock your door, put a sign up, turn off your phone, texts, email, and instant messaging. In fact, if you know you may sneak a peek at your email, set it to offline mode, or even turn off your Internet connection. Go to a quiet area and focus on completing one task.
  4. Schedule your email. Pick two or three times during the day when you’re going to use your email. Checking your email constantly throughout the day creates a ton of noise and kills your productivity.
  5. Use the phone. Email isn’t meant for conversations. Don’t reply more than twice to an email. Pick up the phone instead.
  6. Work on your own agenda. Don’t let something else set your day. Most people go right to their emails and start freaking out. You will end up at inbox-zero, but accomplish nothing. After you wake up, drink water so you rehydrate, eat a good breakfast to replenish your glucose, then set prioritized goals for the rest of your day.
  7. Work in 60 to 90 minute intervals. Your brain uses up more glucose than any other bodily activity. Typically you will have spent most of it after 60-90 minutes. (That’s why you feel so burned out after super long meetings.) So take a break: Get up, go for a walk, have a snack, do something completely different to recharge. And yes, that means you need an extra hour for breaks, not including lunch, so if you’re required to get eight hours of work done each day, plan to be there for 9.5-10 hours.

Ever wake up in the morning and tell yourself “One day – she will realize what she missed out on” or “when they see me drive by in my fancy new car- that will show them whose the daddy now” or when they see me with all this weight loss – they are going to regret having rejected me – and then I will reject them – ha ha hah (evil laugh)”

Now be honest – we all have had those thoughts – but what these thoughts are telling you is this

“YOU HAVE NOT FORGIVEN” “YOUR STILL HURTING” “YOUR STILL WANTING TO VALIDATE YOUR EXISTENCE” and the biggest one “YOUR LETTING SOMEONE ELSE RULE YOUR LIFE”

Take a moment – Think about it? If you are one of those who still has not forgiven – read on – if your one of those who thinks its good to hold that grudge against those that have wronged you – for you to function then you can go back and check out your foes on facebook.

We don’t realize how these thoughts limit our lives. When someone has hurt us – we tend to harbor that hurt for a very long time – and it affects us in different ways – from damaging our health – our balance – and even our future relationships – and ultimately our piece of Mind!

FACT: About 75% of people who are being treated for depression report physical symptoms, including pain. If pain can lead to emotional distress, the reverse is also true. source WebMD (Read article here)

Yes or Yes?

If your ready to move on – take charge and the best way to do that is to forgive – because truly – Forgiving – gives you a lot more in your life.

How to Forgive and Truly Forget

Step 1: Truly understand that your human – give yourself the permission to be human. This means to have the realization that we all make mistakes. Mistakes are a way for us to learn, grow and evolve. Without having an option to make mistakes, the power of invention would cease to exist. All the greatest inventors made enough mistakes to realize how not to do something. So go forth and make a lot of mistakes as long as you learn the lesson.

Step 2: Accept that even you have hurt others and perhaps the best way to be forgiven is by forgiving others. Just like – It is only by giving that one recieves – its also by forgiving that one is forgiven.

Step 3: Find Purpose & then Find Passion: One of the biggest things we can do to lead an emotionally healthy life is to lead a Life of Purpose. This means – doing things that are important for you. Choosing a career that fulfills your core needs and giving significance to the things that matter. In other words  – Get a Life.

Following these 3 simple steps – one should be able to move on. If your in London – come by and visit our weekly Sessions to help you do this.

All Executives, Entrepreneurs, Students, & Individuals are always finding ways to get their desired results.
One of the biggest breakthroughs in leading your organization in business, communicating in your relationships, or achieving a personal goal like weight loss – is to change your approach – and that is where the true power lies.

One Approach to Change your Approach

Much like seeing the “Glass Half Full or Half Empty”, or asking yourself “Not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country” (JFK) - it comes down to “Changing your Heart” – Connecting to your Intention – to focus on a higher purpose – your higher need that is being met when you deliver your service or message.

2 Reasons Why it Helps to Connect to Your Intention

1. Get Energized – By connecting to your intention, addressing your need, your shifting to a more powerful state of operation or modus operandi. This shift can be immediately noticed in your heart, mind, body, and soul allowing you to operate from a position of ….. well knowing that it just feels right.
2. Get Clarity – By connecting to your intention – you develop clarity as to why you are doing what your are doing? What does doing it – give you? That way you develop the wisdom to do things that are important to you and not because it only meets the needs of others.

So How to do Connect to Your Intention?

1. Sit or stand, relax, and breathe – inhale for 7 counts – hold for 1 count – exhale for 7 counts (Do this a few times until you feel your stomach and shoulders relax)

2. Ask yourself – Why are you doing what your doing?
Focus on the area around your stomach – try and identify the need that is being met when you do what you do.

Initially you may find it hard – but do it for a few days and automatically you will begin to develop that inner connection to your intention which will ultimately allow you to live a purposeful life.

Truly, when we change our heart, we change our energy, and that changes everything.

STATUTORY WARNING

“The knowledge you acquire by connecting to your intention and reviewing your actions – may cause some people to go into shock”

If your business is struggling - let us help you change your heart - so you can change everything.

Most of us know Charlie Sheen - from Hot Shots, Platoon, Major League, Wall Street, and most recently Two and a Half Men.

From being a successful movie star to one of the highest paid actors on television – Charlie Sheen has also been in the press for the wrong reasons from drugs to prostitution to domestic violence.

As I watched the “Roast of Charlie Sheen” on Comedy Central, I realized that this guy has had one hell of a life – but whats remarkable is that Charlie loves his life. I am sure he has made his share of mistakes, has his regrets, but then again so do we have a back pack full of that stuff.

I just wanted to share 3 Things that inspired me most about Charlie Sheen’s life.

1. His Resilience – his ability to bounce back from the bottoms of the rock bottoms – from circumstances that would have most likely destroyed the lives of many of us. Divorces, Drug Rehab Programs, Failures, whatever you want to call them – from all of that to still be able to move forward shows a lot of resilience.

(Resilience to be the ability to bounce back in life, the boardroom and the bedroom :) )

2. True to himself – Charlie told his boss to “F%CK OFF’ in March of 2011. All of us at one point would have liked to tell our boss that too – but how many of us would ever do it.

That requires guts and a belief that no matter what happens – it will all be okay but its also important to connect to the unhappiness inside us and do something about it. When we are true to ourselves, we allow ourselves to embrace life.

3. Taking himself not too seriously.

To put yourself out there to be made fun of by the entire world at the Comedy Central Roast is a clear indicator that Charlie ain’t taking himself too seriously. Research has shown that just laughing at the situations we put ourselves into cultivates our capacity for happiness.

So if you want to change your life and get unstuck – try these 3 simple things.

1. Build Resilience – the ability to Bounce back from tough situations.
2. Be True to Yourself – Know what your values are, what you stand for, what you can live with, what you cant live without.
3. Don’t take yourself too seriously – life is short, try and live a life by doing Good Karma.

Thanks Charlie – for entertaining us over the years and now that you don’t have a job – Good Luck :)

See you on the road Charlie – keep blazing your own trail.

If you or anyone you know is stuck in your life – send us an email at soulrider@soulrideruniversal.com and let us support you in making the change you want to be.

This post is not a character analysis of Charlie but a simple observation on some of his traits, beliefs, or whatever you want to call them that can really enhance our life - if we chose to.

Every now and then you come across a situation in life where whatever you say is misunderstood by the other person. This person could be a Friend, a Lover, or even a Colleague. What does one do? in such a situation.
Well since the intent of this space on the Soul Rider is to be used as a blog to post thoughts about relevant problems and situations and how to go about reaching a resolution that results in a win – win for all.. sounds easy – but sometimes hard to practice.

One of the things that we all need to be aware of is that when someone does something – that behavior – may cause us to get angry, pissed off – we need to acknowledge that the other persons actions have brought up something alive in “US”. Its inside US that this reaction has started.
So before we point the finger and judge someone- lets take a minute and see whats happening inside of “US” – in our Heart, Mind, Body, & Soul.

The 5 things to do when someone annoys you with their behavior.

1. Listen to what they are saying without judgement.
2. Resist the temptation to respond.
3. Connect to whats ALIVE inside you.
4. Identify what your Feeling as a result of that Behavior.
5. Understand what you Need.

Try this and let me know how it works for you – Until Part Deux where we will talk about what to do once we have connected to whats Alive inside of Us.

Life provides us with opportunities for growth and human relationships are the perfect fodder for exactly that.

Have a nice week ahead & Always Keep Flowing

What is the Emotional Freedom Technique?

(adapted from mercola.com)

EFT is a form of psychological acupressure, based on the same energy meridians used in traditional acupuncture to treat physical and emotional ailments for over five thousand years, but without the invasiveness of needles. Instead, simple tapping with the fingertips is used to input kinetic energy onto specific meridians on the head and chest while you think about your specific problem – whether it is a traumatic event, an addiction, pain, etc. — and voice positive affirmations.

This combination of tapping the energy meridians and voicing positive affirmation works to clear the “short-circuit” – the emotional block — from your body’s bioenergy system, thus restoring your mind and body’s balance, which is essential for optimal health and the healing of physical disease.

Some people are initially wary of these principles that EFT is based on – the electromagnetic energy that flows through the body and regulates our health is only recently becoming recognized in the West.

Indeed, because of its very high rate of success, the use of EFT has spread rapidly, and medical practitioners employing EFT can now be found in every corner of the country and world.

EFT is very easy to learn, and will help you:

  • Remove Negative Emotions
  • Reduce Food Cravings
  • Reduce or Eliminate Pain
  • Implement Positive Goals

Visit Mercola.com and review their free online EFT Manual for more information.

Pranic Healing® is a highly evolved and tested system of energy medicine developed by GrandMaster Choa Kok Sui that utilizes prana to balance, harmonize and transform the

body’s energy processes. Prana is a Sanskrit word that means life-force. This invisible bio-energy or vital energy keeps the body alive and maintains a state of good health. In acupuncture, the Chinese refer to this subtle energy as Chi. It is also called Ruach or the Breath of Life in Hebrew.

Pranic Healing® is a simple yet powerful & effective system of no-touch energy healing. It is based on the fundamental principles that the body is a self-repairingliving entity that possesses the ability to heal itself and that the healing process is accelerated by increasing this life force that is readily available from the sun, air and ground to address physical & emotional imbalances. Master Choa Kok Sui says “Life Energy or prana is all around us. It is pervasive; we are actually in an ocean of Life Energy. Based on this principle, a healer can draw in Pranic Energy or Life Energy from the surroundings.”
Pranic Healing® requires no drugs, gadgets, not even physical contact with the subject. Physical contact is not required because the practitioner is working on the bioplasmic or energy body and not directly on the physical body. This energy body, or aura, is the mold or blueprint that surrounds and interpenetrates the physical body. It is the energy body that absorbs life energy and distributes it throughout the physical body, to the muscles, organs, glands, etc. The reason Pranic Healing® works on the energy body is that physical ailments first appear as energetic disruptions in the aura before manifesting as problems in the physical body.

This pervasive energy that surrounds, interpenetrates and sustains the physical body, also affects our emotions, our ability to handle stress, relationships and even finances.

“In Ancient times, Pranic Healing could only be practiced by an elite few. My job was to develop a very effective healing system, which ordinary people could learn in just a short period. Anybody can practice pranic healing now. The knowledge of being able to deal with simple ailments is quite empowering.”

-Master Choa Kok Sui

Master Choa Kok Sui developed Pranic Healing® as a comprehensive System of energy medicine to improve the quality of our every day lives. The courses offered are designed to give a person a well-rounded education in Energy Healing and other Esoteric Sciences. These courses are offered across the United States and throughout the World.

We welcome you to the Exciting World of Energy and the Pranic Healing® System!

The Body Detox includes Juice Fasting & Colon Cleansing

Just about everybody benefits from fasting. Even those who live a relatively healthy life-style still have toxins. Due to old and often bad nutritional habits, environmental pollutants, stresses and strains of life situations most of us suffer from toxic deposits throughout the body. With the elimination of these toxins, remarkable and sometimes incredible changes can and have occurred.Fasting provides a much-needed rest for the internal organs. The functions of restores and normalizes glandular, metabolic and nervous-system functions; speeding up the elimination of morbid accumulations, toxic wastes and dead cells; accelerating new cell and tissue generation and enhancing cell-oxygenation.

Juice Fasting can help loose surplus weight

The benefits of fasting are on so many levels, and different people choose to do our program for various reasons. A number of people enquire as to whether they will lose weight. If you have weight to lose, you will certainly lose some of it – depending on how long you fast for. It is also an excellent first step to loosing and changing bad eating habits.Frash orange juice from our organic garden

Low calorie and other fad “diets” usually fail because they literally starve the body of much-needed nutrients, causing even greater biochemical imbalance. Thus, when one can no longer stand to continue with the diet because of how heavily the body is craving what is denied, one is usually forced to binge to the point of gaining more weight than was lost, further lowering self-esteem.

During scientific juice-fasting however, the body autolyzes – self-digests its own stored substances, resynthesizing nutrients and eliminating toxins. Additionally, fruit and vegetable juices, alkalinizing vegetable broth, and herbal teas all add vitamins, minerals and trace elements to the body, in addition to aiding detoxification.

After the fast, the body is better able to digest food and is better at utilizing nutrients in the food. The organs have a new vitality – any sluggishness will have disappeared. If the body was prone to water-retention, this also disappears.

FAQ’s

How is your fasting program different from other programs?According to the purists, ours is not a real fast, as we take fruit & vegetable juices as well as vegetable broth along with herbs, vitamins, minerals etc. To the purists, fasting  means only water. However the Swedish Dr. Ragnar Berg, long our world’s foremost authority on nutrition and biochemistry stated. ” During fasting, the body burns up and excretes huge amounts of accumulated wastes. We can help this process by drinking alkaline juices instead of water. Juice fasting is therefore the very best form of fasting.” Furthermore with the herbs we cleanse the entire gastrointestinal tract, the Clysmatic (a gravity type colonic) cleanses and stimulates the lower intestine, various treatments 5 days a week assures the elimination of toxins and the balancing of your entire system, the sauna cleanses through the skin, and the Yoga and Meditation  facilitates the purification of the mind and the spirit. All of this in a most serene and pure setting.

Will I not be terribly hungry, not eating for so many days?

No, with all the and juices and broth taken, you will not feel hungry.

Without solid food, will I not become extremely weak?

No, you receive direct nutrition with the juices, and in addition to the powders and herbal pills taken to eliminate toxins, you will receive supplements to keep your energy level up. As a  matter of fact, after a few  days you will probably feel more energetic than you have in ages.

Is this an easy program?

For some people, it is not only easy, it is a joy!  People who have fasted before, say it is the easiest fast they  ever did.

Will I lose a lot of weight?

It depends.  If you are too heavy you will definitely lose weight, but if you already are at your  optimum weight  you will probably not lose too much.  It varies from individual to individual.  People  who are too skinny and afraid of  not having regular meals, have experienced that although  they lost weight during the detoxifying program,  after the  purification they  gain weight  in all the right  places, eating less, because of their new ability to  assimilate nutrients.

Will it help me to stop smoking?

Absolutely!  With the elimination of nicotine toxins from your system, your craving for cigarettes  will also end.  We know of no program more effective in breaking the habit.

Will I have a healing crisis?

Very unlikely, although each person is different.  It appears that the effective elimination of  toxins as the body begins to detoxify is instrumental in avoiding a healing crisis.

Will fasting cure my… (migraine, allergy, cancer, etc)…?

Fasting in itself does not cure anything, but it is a means  of permitting the resources of the body itself to take over, to effect healing unmatched by any other method.

My weekend can be best summarized in the quote from the movie Forrest Gump“Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what your gonna get”.

I attended a Non Violent Communication (NVC)workshop this past weekend in New Delhi and it truly opened my eyes, ears, and heart to the world of communication and miscommunication.

NVC

A big thank you to the the trainer Saleem Ebrahim, who came down from Paris to conduct the NVC Worskhop.

Non Violent Communication or NVC for short was developed by Marshall Rosenberg, who brought to light the essence of communication – that we humans always knew how to do, but somehow for whatever reason, we lost touch with our own intuition and deep compassion for others.

To put it simply, Non Violent Communication is about addressing an individuals NeedsYour needs and that of Others needs to get to a point where everyones needs are met.

To illustrate NVC in a nutshell, Lets look at some examples of everyday communication.

1. A husband does not do his chores – His wife is the first to remind him that he is not responsible and is a complete asshole. (a bit extreme but lets work with this example :) ) and just to make sure we are not gender biased – lets reverse roles – the wife forgets and the husband starts the bickering.

2. A teenager does not clean their room. – The mother continues to constantly remind the teenager – Almost like an Alarm Clock on Snooze. Ultimately, the teenager rebels against the demand, storms out of the house. Panic and frenzy spread throughout the family with a emotional reconciliation that takes place a few days later – with promises that are made to be broken.

3. A baby cries – the parents think – 1) Baby is hungry 2) Potty alert 3) Baby needs sleep. The parents check and verify and address the immediate need.

Ask yourself – in which example(s) are Needs being addressed and what is the quality of the communication.

Slicing and Dicing the above examples using NVC awareness

Example 1. The husband does not do his chores. His wife tells him that very clearly. What she does not tell him clearly how she FELT because a particular NEED she had was not being considered and met.
Furthermore, she does not give him the avenue to express his FEELING and his NEED.
In reality – The wife probably FEELS overwhelmed – managing her work, kids, house etc and just NEEDS to be appreciated and acknowledged for her duty.

Example 2. The teenager does not clean their room.
The mother does not tell the child what she FEELS and what she NEEDS.
The teenager too cannot articulate what they FEEL and what they NEED and communicate that to their mother or others.
In the distant future, the child goes up and gets married and plays either character in Example 1.
In reality – The mother perhaps FEELS disconnected and needs to connect with her teenage child and the teenage child FEELS confused (puberty issues) and NEEDS space, freedom, or privacy.

Example 3. Baby cries – parents immediately focus on what the NEED is. Parents do what is necessary to meet the need and all settles down until baby expresses NEED again. The crying is not the issue, its the need.

Key Point being – if we were to clearly connect with OUR feelings and needs and that of OTHERS we would automatically arrive at a Win-Win situation (in most cases).

Summary
NVC is about intelligent communication that focuses on what is important to a person thereby creating empathy and compassion in an interaction and relationship.5769_125813467858_72283242858_2272912_7520755_a
